Comelec convenes as board of canvassers for senatorial races
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc on Monday convened as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) for the senatorial and party-list contests.
The NBOC convened ahead of the close of the voting period in precincts with five out of seven commissioners present: Chairman Andres Bautista, Commissioners Arthur Lim, Rowena Guanzon, Luie Tito Guia, and Sheriff Abbas.
The NBOC initialized the counting and canvassing system (CCS) with parties and counsels of candidates as witnesses.
The initialization report, which shows that all candidates got 0 votes, was also shown.
The NBOC, after showing that no region has transmitted votes just yet, opted to suspend its canvassing until 11 a.m. on Tuesday. RAM/rga
