Davao City, Philippines—The known nocturnal Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, who sleeps at daytime, is expected to vote in the afternoon two to three hours before polling places close at 5 p.m.

Peter Laviña, spokesperson for Duterte and head of his media team, said Duterte will head to Daniel Aguinaldo High School in Matina District, Davao City to cast his vote between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Duterte, the frontrunner in voter preference polls, will be the last presidential candidate to vote.

“He sleeps at daytime,” Laviña told a news briefing at Duterte’s media center at the Royal Mandaya Hotel.

Laviña said the mayor’s plan is to be out of sight until he casts his vote.

“He will show up when he comes to the polling precinct. This is partly due to security reason,” Laviña said. IDL/rga
