Despite expressing fears of “massive cheating” in this year’s polls, Vice President Jejomar Binay said he already prepared a victory speech the night before casting his vote on Monday at the opening of the May 9 elections.
Binay said he has prepared his victory speech last night because he is confident he would win the presidency.
“Kagabi, hinanda ko na victory speech kasi ang tingin ko… sa pagiikot ko na talagang mananalo na tayo (Last night, I already prepared my victory speech because I think…in making the rounds during our campaign, that we will win),” Binay said In an interview after casting his vote in San Antonio National Highschool.
Binay said he hoped reports of “massive cheating” as part of a phase to derail his presidential bid are not true.
“Ang agam agam ko, sana, hindi totoo na magkakaroon ng massive cheating (I am hoping that my misgivings regarding massive cheating are not true) ,” Binay said.

Binay said this cheating may be part of the “principal phase” of a conspiracy against him now that the other two phases were finished.
Binay had called the corruption allegations against him part of the administration’s conspiracy of “demolition by perception” to stop him from winning the presidency.
Binay was indicted by the Ombudsman for graft, malversation and falsification of public documents for purportedly rigging the allegedly overpriced Makati car park building.
His son Junjun was dismissed as mayor in 2015 for grave misconduct and serious dishonesty over his role in the car park overprice.
They were also the subject of a year-long Senate investigation over alleged kickbacks from overpriced deals in Makati.
“Sana sa Diyos at sa tao, sana magkaroon tayo ng isang malinis at marangal na halalan. Ang kinakatakot ko yung massive cheating, lalo na ang ginawa sa akin. Nangyari na yung two phases. Ang natitira na lang is the principal phase,” Binay said.
(Hopefully by God’s will and that of the people, we will have clean and decent elections. What I fear is massive cheating, especially with what they are doing to me. The other two phases had already been carried out. What’s left is the principal phase.)
Binay said he complained to the school principal that at least three poll watchers outside the precinct who were wearing the party uniforms of Kid Peña, the Makati mayoral candidate running against Binay’s daughter Abby.
“Di bale kung botante, pero ang bawal yung mga watcher (That would have been fins if they were voters, but not if they are watchers),” Binay said. CDG
