SHARIFF AGUAK, Maguindanao, Philippines – The son of the late former Maguindanao Governor Andal Ampatuan Sr, Sajid Islam Ampatuan, who is running for Mayor under the party of presidential candidate Jejomar Binay, cast his vote here Monday morning.
Ampatuan, however, accused the Commission on Elections and government security forces of unfair treatment.
The young Ampatuan, currently out on bail, told the Inquirer that he arrived at the Shariff Aguak Elementary School at 5:45 a.m. but he was able to cast his vote 6:40 a.m.
“I waited for more than 40 minutes. Soldiers and police were only selecting who can get inside the main gate of the school,” he said.
