Still no break in probe of Makati official’s slay

Investigators were still checking leads that would lead them to the people who killed Makati social welfare officer Mila Dumaguit two weeks ago. “We’re still waiting for the result of the cross-matching of spent shells and slugs as well as the lie detection tests of  witnesses,” Makati Police officer in charge, Superintendent Jaime Santos, told the Inquirer in a text message. Santos earlier said that the killing of Dumaguit was recorded by a closed circuit television camera installed near the crime scene at the corner of Tanay Street and Osmeña Highway in Barangay (village) Valenzuela, Makati City. The police were able to get a copy of the footage but said that they were attempting to enhance the images to get a close look at the gunmen. Dumaguit was on her way to city hall on October 5 when two men on a motorcycle opened fire on her vehicle and her driver, Jun del Pilar.
