2 Camarines Sur village execs wounded in gun attack

NAGA CITY—Two village councilors in Tinambac town in Camarines Sur were wounded when they were shot by an undetermined number of suspects on Friday, police said on Saturday.

 
Chief Insp. Juancho Ibis, Tinambac police chief, said San Antonio Village councilors Nomer Pineda and Loreto Corre were on board a motorcycle and were on their way to the town center at 3 p.m. when they were shot.

 
Ibis said Pineda and Corre were hit on their shoulders and were taken to the Bicol Medical Center in Naga City, some 50 km from Tinambac.

 
Ibis said investigators cannot discount politics as one of the possible motives in the attack.
