CEBU CITY—Mayor Ricardo Ramirez of Medellin town in northern Cebu claimed that he was mauled by former Capitol çhief security officer Loy Anthony Madrigal in Bogo City, early Friday.

In a series of posts in his Facebook account on Friday, Ramirez didn’t elaborate on why he was allegedly mauled by Madrigal in Bogo City, but suspected that the attack was related to politics.

He claimed that Madrigal was hired by the Martinez family in Bogo City and that he was mauled for supporting Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

Ramirez also posted photos showing the injury in his right eye.

PO3 James Susvilla of the Bogo City police said they have not submitted a report on the incident to the Cebu Provincial Police Office.

Calls to Supt. Richard Oliver, Bogo City police chief, were unanswered as of 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

Madrigal, meanwhile, defended himself in his own Facebook account, saying Ramirez punched him first and he just retaliated.  SFM/rga
