SAN ISIDRO, Davao Oriental – President Aquino led on Wednesday, the opening of the Mt. Hamiguitan World Heritage Park here, a multi-million peso project, which was seen to further boost Mindanao tourism.

Mr. Aquino, who was in his last flurry of trips to the southern Philippine island less than a week before the May 9 elections, highlighted the Mt. Hamiguitan project as among his administration’s various tourism-related development packages in the region, particularly in Davao Oriental.

The President also noted how the province has been able to recover almost four years after Typhoon Pablo with help from the national government.

Mr. Aquino arrived around 2 p.m. and was accompanied by the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) Secretary Lualhati Antonino. Local officials led by Gov. Corazon Malanyaon and San Isidro Mayor Tina Yu then toured the President inside the Mt. Hamiguitan park.  SFM
