Teen victim kills 65-year-old rape suspect in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY, Philippines—A 19-year-old victim of rape killed her 65-year-old attacker in Barangay (village) Madanlog, San Dionisio town in Iloilo province past 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lovely (not her real name) of Batad town told the police that she hit the head of Rizalino Asturias after he had raped her.

PO3 Jezzel Igbaras, head of the women and children protection desk (WCPD), said Asturias followed the victim while she was heading home.

Upon arrival at the unlighted area, the suspect grabbed the hand of the victim, carried her towards the corn plantation and hit her head until she fell unconscious.

He then removed the underwear of Lovely and hit her in the head to consummate his evil act.

When the victim woke up, Asturias was allegedly done raping her.

She then asked him if she could go home but Asturias wanted her to stay with him and hugged her.

She then seized a fist-sized stone and repeatedly hit Asturias’ head until he died.

The victim was referred to a hospital for treatment of her injuries and would be subjected to medical examination to determine if she was raped. RAM
