VICE President Jejomar Binay brought his motorcade to Capiz, a bailiwick of his nemesis administration candidate Mar Roxas, in a bid to woo his “silent supporters.”
In an interview in Antique on Tuesday, Binay was asked why he bothered to campaign in Capiz even though this is seen as Roxas’ territory.
Binay said he needed to go there to send a message to his “silent supporters” that he would not abandon them.
“Marami itong silent supporters namin. Kailangan pumunta rito para makita nila na wala kaming iwanan. Hindi namin sila pababayaan,” Binay said.
He said his followers needed a moral boost after they felt left out under the current administration.
“Basta ang pinunta ko rito ay yong aming supporters. They need some morale boosting. Hindi kami yong tipo na yong leadership ay pinapabayaan ang mga tao namin sa field,” Binay said.
Binay held a motorcade around Panay Island in Antique, Aklan and Capiz.
In Roxas’ hometown Roxas City, he beat Binay by over 15,000 votes in the 2010 vice presidential race. Roxas won with 37,289 votes, while Binay only got 22,247 votes.
