CITY OF CAUAYAN, Isabela — Cities and a municipality of Isabela suffered a brownout on Sunday due to problems with the transmission lines of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

The unscheduled power interruption was experienced here and in Luna town beginning at 8:36 a.m., said Lilibeth Gaydowen, NGCP North Luzon corporate communications and public affairs officer.
She said power would be restored at 2 p.m.
The brownout was traced to the burning of a wooden pole of the Santiago-Cauayan 69kV line due to farmers burning hay in Alicia town.
Linemen were dispatched to the area to replace the pole.
In Ilagan City, a transformer of the Baligatan power line blew up, causing a brownout. Linemen are repairing the damage. JE/rga
