2 killed in motorcycle accident in Koronadal City
KORONADAL CITY—A pastor and a woman were killed in a road mishap in Barangay Carpenter Hills here on Saturday.
Pastor Welbert Plicer, 45, evangelist at Philippines Arise for Jesus Ministries International Inc., and Angelyn Eding, 25, both of Barangay Tubiala, Surallah, South Cotabato, were onboard a motorcycle when they collided with a pickup truck at around 2 p.m.
Citing Philippine National Police traffic investigation, Koronadal City police chief Senior Supt. Barney Condes said Plicer and Eding, who were riding a blue motorcycle (MX-8775), were heading for the city when they collided head-on with a Toyota Hilux (NPO-663).
Police said it appeared that the pickup was overspeeding on its way to General Santos City and occupied the opposite lane.
Due to the impact, the pastor and the woman were thrown off while the motorbike was a total wreck.
The pickup driver, identified as Sortie Bicera of Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, fled the scene of accident but later surrendered to the Tupi police office. RC
