Another member of Manila’s Finest is in hot water for allegedly firing at his cousin’s car in Sampaloc, Manila, on Wednesday.

In a complaint for frustrated murder filed on Thursday in the Manila Police District’s General Assignment Section (MPD-GAS), Francis Venancio said that his cousin, PO2 Zeus Venancio of the Sampaloc police, tried to kill him over a misunderstanding in their family.

The MPD-GAS, meanwhile, summoned Zeus to a hearing today, saying the outcome would determine whether or not charges should be filed against him.

According to Francis, the incident happened at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday near their house on Antipolo Street. He said that he was in his car with his mother and 4-year-old grandson to get some food when Zeus appeared from behind them and fired at the vehicle’s windshield.

None of the passengers were injured even as Zeus opened one of the car’s doors and tried to shoot Francis who hid behind his grandson. Not wanting to hit the boy, Zeus stopped although he hit in the face Francis’ son who tried to step in. Other bystanders also intervened and Zeus left.

Earlier in the day, Zeus had an argument with Francis’ mother over the profits from the apartments they were managing. Francis said this may have triggered Zeus’ actions. Aie Balagtas See
