The Thai police are on a massive hunt for two more suspected gang members responsible for the barbarous assault of a British family who celebrated Songkran (Thai New Year) on the evening of April 13.
A video clip from a CCTV camera at the entrance of Bintabaht street at Hua Hin province which was posted by news site Thai Visa showed the family having a heated argument with the suspects. A few minutes later, the suspects attacked the tourists and knocked them down on the pavement.
At one point, the mother tried to stand up, but one of the gang members kicked her jaw and she remained unconsciousness on the busy street, the video showed.
The Hua Hin police shared the video to warn and notify the public. So far, two suspects have been arrested and are in police custody. Two more men caught on video attacking the tourists are still at large.
According to British media, bystanders and eyewitnesses who rushed to the scene to stop the rowdy gang members were injured. A sixty-five-year-old woman who rescued the badly-beaten British nationals was also injured.
Thai locals believed that the gang targets “farangs” – a Thai word for ‘foreigners’.
