NFA chief quits
Citing “personal and medical reasons,” National Food Authority (NFA) administrator Renan Dalisay has quit his post.
In an interview with reporters on Wednesday, Dalisay said he had tendered his resignation on a previous occasion, but he was asked by Malacañang to stay on until May 2016.
“This (resignation) is for personal and medical reasons,” the NFA chief said. “I need to undergo a medical procedure. If I don’t, things may get worse for me.”
He did not elaborate.
President Aquino, however, has yet to formally accept Dalisay’s resignation.
Dalisay assumed office in November 2014, replacing former NFA administrator Arthur Juan who quit three months into the job.
