MANILA — A police officer in Manila was summoned by investigators after a female vendor accused him of punching her instead of paying off his debts.
Chief Inspector Arsenio Riparip, head of the Manila Police District’s general assignment section, said Police Officer 2 Aaron Rendon of Sta. Cruz station was invited to their office to appear on Wednesday (Apr. 27).
The officer on case was Police Officer 3 Jayjay Jacob.
Vendor Nene Primo Piloneo filed the complaint against Rendon on Tuesday, claiming the policeman owed her money. She said that when she asked for a payback, he punched her Monday midnight.
The incident happened on Ronquillo street inside Casino Filipino. She saw Rendon after the cop played Baccarat and asked him for her money.
The cop was allegedly incensed and told Piloneo: Don’t you know me?” Then, he punched her in the forehead.
Riparip said Rendon has not been charged and that he has been set to appear at the MPD-GAS on Wednesday for a confrontation. Police will attempt to guide Rendon and Piloneo to a settlement through a dialogue. SFM
