US burglary suspect jailed by former classmate released from jail

It was a reunion of two classmates in middle school worth remembering.

In June 2015, Florida Judge Mindy Glazer went viral after she recognized that the accused in one of her bond hearings was her middle school classmate, Arthur Booth, 49, who had been arrested for burglary in Hialeah, Florida, earlier.

The judge recalled that the burglary suspect was a ‘great kid’ and that they played football together. But she sentenced him to jail nevertheless.

This April, or 10 months after the sentence was delivered, Booth was put on a special court rehabilitation program and ordered released. On the day of his release, Glazer greeted Booth with a hug as she gave him ‘pieces of advice’, according to US entertainment portal Inside Edition.

“You’re going to take care of your family, get a job, and stay clean,” the report quoted Glazer as telling Booth. “You’re going to do something good for someone else.”

He is currently undergoing a special court program to rehabilitate his life.

“This is a group effort to see you succeed. Don’t let us down,” she continued.

The report said Booth promised that he would make his former middle school classmate proud of him.

“She’s an inspiration and motivation to me right now, just seeing Mindy is incredible,” Booth said in an interview with local media. He also promised Glazer and his family that he would be a role model for other people. Gianna Francesca Catolico, INQUIRER.net
