Judge killed in road accident in Zamboanga del Sur

MANILA, Philippines — A judge was killed in a road accident in Zamboanga del Sur Monday, a police spokesman said Tuesday.

Judge Ernesto Maximo Victor Laurel of the regional trial court Branch 30 in Aurora, died on the spot when his white Volkswagen (GGV-417) collided with a blue Mitsubishi Montero (KFM-655) along the National Highway in Barangay Kahayagan East in the town of Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, said Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., Philippine National Police spokesman.

Aurora police have taken into custody Victor Francis Benhur Escueta, who drove the Montero.
