PANDI, Bulacan— Police are looking for a suspected hired gun who was identified by witnesses as the one who killed former Vice Mayor Roberto Marquez Rivera on Monday night.
Ariel Orolfo, the subject of several arrest warrants for murder charges, was identified by witnesses from a police gallery of suspected hired guns in Bulacan and in Central Luzon, Chief Supt. Rudy Lacadin, Central Luzon police director, said on Thursday.
The police have yet to establish whether Rivera was killed due to politics. He was not running in the May 9 elections but he was a relative and a close supporter of mayoral candidate Celestino Marquez of the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL).
Quoting Rivera’s family members, Lacadin said the former vice mayor had been receiving death threats. Rivera served as vice mayor from 1992 to 1998. SFM
