Robbery, drug suspect killed by cops in Koronadal City

KORONADAL CITY – Police authorities on Tuesday killed a man believed to be involved in the September 2014 bloody pawnshop robbery here and illegal drug operations.

Senior Supt. Barney Condes, Koronadal City police director, identified, on Wednesday, the slain robbery suspect as Jeffrey Dalamban, 38, allegedly a member of the notorious “Martilyo Gang” operating in Manila. Also killed was his common-law-wife, Bailyn Balambag.

Condes said Dalamban was one of the six persons who robbed Agencia Brillantes Pawnshop here after killing the shop’s two security guards.

The alleged leader, Khadafy Guamelon, was arrested earlier and is now in jail.

Condes said Dalamban engaged the arresting lawmen in a shootout in Barangay Namnama during an anti-illegal drug operation.

“He was known as a major illegal drug supplier and pusher in Koronadal City,” Condes said. “He was here to lie low,” he added.

Police recovered two .38 revolvers and several sachets of suspected shabu and paraphernalia from Dalamban’s house.  SFM
