Curb crime in 6 months? That’s a ‘complete illusion’ – de Lima

“A COMPLETE illusion.”

That was how former Justice Secretary and senatorial candidate Leila de Lima described the promise of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s to stop crime within the first six months if elected into office.

“How in heaven’s name can it be done to eradicate criminality in three to six months. It’s a complete illusion,” De Lima said during the INQlive interview on Tuesday night.

De Lima said Duterte’s strategy to address crime was “impossible.”

She said the capacity of our law enforcers should be improved.

“Kailangang i-improve yung kapasidad ng ating mga law enforcement agencies,” she said.

She said Duterte’s way to curb crime, which has been allegedly associated with extrajudicial killings,  was a “no-no.”
