Duterte camp grateful for poll lead despite limited resources

The camp of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday expressed gratitude for his lead in the recent Pulse Asia Survey commissioned by ABS-CBN.

Peter Laviña, Duterte’s spokesman, said Duterte continues to rise in surveys despite their limited resources.

“We are happy with this new survey result. It shows Duterte’s continuing rise in spite of our limited resources and few LGU support,” Laviña said in a statement.

Laviña thanked Filipinos for their continued support for the tough-talking mayor and his advocacy of genuine change.

“We thank the Filipino people for their trust in his advocacy for genuine change. We are hopeful that together we can bring peace and prosperity to our beloved country,” he said.

In the recent Pulse Asia survey, Duterte got 32 percent of 4,000 respondents, which made him gain a solo lead in the presidential race.

Erstwhile poll frontrunner Sen. Grace Poe only got 25 percent.

The survey was conducted from April 5 to 10—days before Duterte was heavily criticized on social media for his controversial statement on the rape-killing of Australian lay missionary Jacqueline Hamill. JE
