CARMEN, Bohol – A man allegedly operating a drug syndicate in Bohol province was arrested on Saturday afternoon, a police official said.
Eddie Vaño, 59, was detained at the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) in the capital city of Tagbilaran pending filing of charges.
At least 80 grams of shabu worth P944,000 were seized from Vaño during a raid on his farm house in Barangay Fatima, Carmen, said Senior Insp. Ricardo Tero of the BPPO’s Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB).
Tero said Vaño was arrested around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday based on a search warrant issued by Judge Leo Moises Lison of the Regional Trial Court Branch 3 in Tagbilaran City.
He said Vaño, who was under surveillance prior to the operation, was tagged as a dangerous Level 1 drug lord based in Carmen town.
“Vaño has many drug pushers directly working under him including those from neighboring towns and Tagbilaran City. His supply comes from various sources,” said Tero.
Asked why only a few grams of shabu were seized from the suspect, police said Vaño had already distributed part of his supply to his runners before the operation.
