BI reshuffles personnel to foil entry of foreign criminals

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has implemented a nationwide reshuffle of its personnel as part of its step to prevent foreign criminals from entering the country.

Immigration Commissioner Ronaldo Geron said affected are 156 immigration officials and personnel assigned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia), Mactan International Airport, Davao International Airport, Aklan International Airport, Iloilo, Zamboanga and Laoag International Airports.

The reorganization was approved by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in relation to the appointment ban during election period.

Assigned as the new NAIA Terminal 1 head supervisor was Timotea Barizo, replacing Paul Versoza; NAIA Terminal 2 head supervisor Carmelita Vitan vice Lourdes Bautista; and NAIA Terminal 3 head supervisor Leni Maminta replacing E. R. Robin.

Geron also placed Ruby Fontejon as the new head of the Travel Control Enforcement Unit (TCEU), replacing Ricardo Sarao. CDG
