They only talked of issues concerning the country, Sen. Grace Poe said of her meeting on Wednesday with former President Fidel V. Ramos, and she did not seek his endorsement of her presidential bid.

“I sought time with President Ramos to seek his views and advice on various issues confronting our nation. It had nothing to do with any endorsement,” Poe said in a statement.

“The discussion went well and was very enriching,” she added.

She did not elaborate on the topics she and the former president took up at the Ramos Peace and Development Foundation Inc. office in Makati City.

Earlier, a photo of Ramos with rival presidential candidate Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and running mate Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano made the rounds. In the photo, Ramos is raising the arms of Cayetano and Duterte, who is wearing what looks like the former president’s cap.

Ramos has not said categorically whom he is backing for president, although he has expressed support for Rep. Leni Robredo, the administration Liberal Party’s vice presidential candidate.
