ILOILO CITY–Two young brothers were killed inside their home in Barangay (village) San Matias in Dingle town in Iloilo province past 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
The victims were identified as Keith Ryan Latoza, 11 and younger brother, Weisly, 9.
According to the housemaid identified only as Charity, the two were playing in the garage when she went to the back of the house to tend to the garden.
Minutes later, she heard a commotion.
When she went to the garage and check, she saw a man wearing a bonnet, holding a knife and running away from the house, she said.
The man, she added, had blood on the shirt.
“When I checked, I saw Ryan and Weisly lying on the floor with wounds on their faces and different parts of their body,” Charity said.
They were rushed to Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan town but were pronounced dead on arrival by attending physician.
Insp. Marvin Buenavista, Dingle police chief, said they had yet to determine the identity of the perpetrator and the motive in the killing.
The victims’ father is working in Qatar while the mother stays at home.
Recovered from the crime scene was a knife possibly used in the crime. CDG
