Sen. Grace Poe has called on her fellow presidential candidates to raise the level of discourse on the elections and not just engage in name-calling.

“Hopefully, let’s raise the level of discourse … let’s follow a particular standard based on issues,” Poe said on Wednesday when asked about the exchange of insults among her rivals.

“It’s important that our countrymen, more than just hearing soundbytes, have a firm grasp of what [the candidate’s] program is,” she said.

“Kasi ang talo naman dito ay ang mga botante kung nakatutok lang tayo sa insultuhan na hindi naman nakapako kung ano talaga ang programang nais nating itulak.”

Instead of engaging in mudslinging, Poe urged her fellow candidates to focus on pressing problems of the country such as poverty, job creations and corruption. RC
