CALAMBA, Laguna — Vice presidential bet Francis “Chiz” Escudero is set to file a case on Tuesday against four police generals and other officers who had reportedly met with campaign officials of administration standard-bearer Mar Roxas at a hotel in Araneta Center, Quezon City.
Escudero, running mate of presidential aspirant Grace Poe, said he would file the case at the Commission on Elections.
“I think by tomorrow, we will be filing a case against the four PNP generals and other officers involved dun sa pagtitipon diumano sa pangunguna ni General Cerbo na nakipagpulong sa mga opsiyal ng Liberal Party, partikular ng kandidatong si G. Mar Roxas dahil mali, bawal at hindi tuwid yun,” he said at a press conference here on Monday.
Cerbo is Director Generoso Cerbo Jr., chief of the PNP Directorate for Intelligence. The three other police officials who were supposedly spotted meeting with Roxas’ camp at the Novotel Manila in Cubao are Chief Superintendents Rainier Idio, Bernardo Diaz, and Ronald Santos.

“At ang lakas pa ng loob nila sa hotel sa Cubao pa magtitipon-tipon at mapupulong. Pinaalis nga nila yung mga waiter, pinalabas lahat ng waiter; malas nila may meeting ang media para dun, hindi nila alam. ‘Yan ang hirap sa intelligence, minsan may funds sila, pero wala naman yung intelligence,” Escudero said.
Escudero earlier said that the police officials and other officers involved in the meeting could be charged for electioneering and engaging in partisan political activities. JE
