Robredo daughters upbeat Leni converted voters
The three daughters of Liberal Party vice presidential bet Leni Robredo are hopeful that the performance of their mother in the “PiliPinas” Debates would convince voters.
Aika, Tricia and Jillian Robredo, all wearing yellow, looked upbeat when reporters asked them after the program at the University of Santo Tomas to assess the performance of Leni.
Before the program, which was held at the Quadricentennial Pavilion of the centuries-old university, Tricia said they prayed together with Leni.
“Bago siya sumabak, pinagdasal namin sana marami kaming ma-convert na tao. Hopeful kami ngayon na meron naman po,” the former UAAP courtside reporter said.
Meanwhile, Aika, the eldest of the three, said the debate became a venue for their mother to prove to the people that she could stand on her own, without mentioning the name of Leni’s husband, the late former Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo.
“Dati parating sinasabi na byuda lang siya ni Jesse. Pero ngayon ni isang beses hindi niya nabanggit kahit once si Jesse, which proves na kayang-kaya niya on her own,” Aika said.
The Camarines Sur representative was thrust into political limelight after Jesse Robredo died in a plane crash off the Masbate coast in 2012.
