Tension rose between Senators Alan Peter Cayetano and Bongbong Marcos during the Sunday’s vice presidential debate at the University of Santo Tomas as Cayetano brought up the alleged ill-gotten wealth of the Marcos family worth $10 billion.

Cayetano said if Marcos gets elected as Vice President, there is a possibility that the latter would steal $100 billion from the Filipinos—a figure much higher than what the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos and his cronies allegedly stole from the government during his regime.

But Marcos said Cayetano’s claims have no basis. “Yang malaking numero, walang pinanggalingan (those figures came from nowhere).”
Cayetano also hit Marcos for being allegedly involved in the P20-billion pork barrel scam.
“Tungkol doon sa kaso sa PDAF (Priority Development Assistance Fund), nasagot na natin ‘yan (We already addressed the issue on PDAF),” Marcos said. IDL
