The Quezon Service Cross, one of the highest national orders in the country, was created on Oct. 21, 1946, through a joint resolution of the Republic’s First Congress. Given to Filipino citizens for exemplary service to the nation, it is conferred by the President with the concurrence of Congress. Recipients of the award include Emilio Aguinaldo, Benigno S. Aquino Jr., Ramon Magsaysay and Carlos P. Romulo.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
