4,066 pass CPA licensure exams

MANILA, Philippines—The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Monday that 4,066 out of 8,525 passed the Certified Public Accountant licensure examinations given by the Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi in October 2011.

The University of the Philippines Diliman registered a 100 percent passing rate as all of its 74 examinees passed. The UP was followed by the University of Santo Tomas, with 88.86 percent passing rate, and De La Salle University-Lipa and University of Saint Louis-Tuguegarao, both 80 percent.

Registration for the issuance of professional identification card and certificate of registration will start on October 24 (Monday). Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), two passport-size pictures (colored with white background and complete nametag), two 1” x 1” picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), two sets of metered documentary stamps and one short brown envelope with name and profession.

Registrants are also to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2011-2014.  Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees have yet to be announced.
