Duterte camp ‘thankful for people’s support’ after topping survey
THE camp of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte was thankful for the support of the Filipinos after the tough-talking local executive topped “The Standard Poll” conducted by Laylo Research Strategies.
“We are thankful for the support being shown by the Filipino people,” Peter Tiu Lavina, Duterte spokesman said in a statement sent to INQUIRER.net

“The new Laylo-Standard survey shows that [the people’s] clamor for genuine change is getting traction. It reflects the rising demand to get rid of trapos and usher in a leadership with a vision, political will and love for our country and our people,” Lavina added.
More than a month before the elections, Lavina said their camp would intensify the campaign of Duterte and his running mate Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano.
Article continues after this advertisement“We shall intensify our campaign for #DuterteCayetayo knowing fully well that we have more and more voters joining our call for genuine change,” he said.
In the latest The Standard Poll, Duterte got a voter preference of 30 percent while Sen. Grace Poe who got 27 percent. The two were in a statistical tie.
