DAVAO CITY – More rice donations for displaced farmers arrived at the Methodist Center in Kidapawan City on Tuesday.

Some 400 sacks of rice were delivered for the drought-stricken farmers. These were donated by artists Angel Locsin, Daniel Padilla, Karla Estrada, Mariel Rodriguez Padilla, Bianca Gonzalez-Intal, director Perci Intalan and Jun Robles.

On Monday, actress Anne Curtis and her sister Jasmine also donated 220 sacks of rice.

Action star Robin Padilla earlier bought 200 sacks of rice for the farmers, before he left after a short visit.

The farmers barricaded the Davao-Cotabato highway as they demanded government assistance, particularly rice, after their farms were devastated by the prolonged drought. On Friday, however, police dispersed the protesters, leaving three people dead and at least a hundred wounded.

Rice donations from individuals and groups have been pouring in since the bloody dispersal.  SFM
