Vice presidential bet Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero is still the candidate to beat for the second highest position of the land, the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS)-Bilang Pilipino mobile survey showed.
The results, which were first published on BusinessWorld on Tuesday, showed Escudero leading the pack with 31 percent of the 757 respondents choosing him as their preferred vice presidential candidate.
Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and administration vice presidential bet Camarines Sur representative Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo were statistically-tied for second place, with a preference rating of 26 percent and 25 percent respectively.
Marcos’ rating dipped by two percentage points, from 24 percent in the March 22 survey. Meanwhile, Robredo’s increased by two percentage points.
Senator Alan Peter Cayetano trailed behind them with 13 percent. He was followed by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV with three percent and Senator Gringo Honasan with one percent.
One percent of the respondents said that they were undecided.
Escudero was the top choice of respondents from Balance Luzon (38 percent). Marcos led in the National Capital Region (32 percent) while Robredo clinched Visayas (38 percent) and Mindanao (24 percent).
Escudero also led in urban areas (33 percent) while he tied with Marcos in rural areas (29 percent).
The namesake of the late dictator is the top pick of male respondents (29 percent) while Escudero enjoyed the most support from female respondents (34 percent).
The survey has sampling error margins of ±4 percent for national percentages and ±7 percent in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. KS
