MANILA — A man accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in Cabanatuan was arrested in Malate, the Manila Police District said on Monday.
Chief Inspector Paulito Salubao, deputy chief of Malate police, identified the man as Josecito Alcantara, 30, an information technology worker.
He was nabbed in front of his house on C. Tuazon Gonzalo Street about 7 p.m. on Sunday, after eluding authorities for three years.
The arrest of Alcantara was covered by a warrant of arrest issued against him in 2013. Cabanaturan cops coordinated with Malate policemen for Alcantara’s arrest.
Manila Police District said the victim’s grandmother was the one who found Alcantara and informed the cops about it.
He is currently detained at Malate police station pending his transfer to Cabanatuan. SFM
