NPA rebels barricade some highways in Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – New People’s Army (NPA) rebels barricaded parts of the highways in Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental at 5 am Sunday.
Superintendent Surki Sereñas, police information officer for Northern Mindanao, said an undetermined number of armed guerrillas simultaneously blocked the highways in Barangay Kapitan Bayong, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon and Barangay Mandahilag, Talisayan, Misamis Oriental.
Sereñas said the rebels left 20 minutes later.
“Travelers and motorists can now pass through said areas,” Sereñas said.
He added government forces have been deployed in Kapitan Bayong and Mandahilag to conduct investigation and pursuit operations. JE
