MANILA, Philippines – Disgruntled residents of Sitio San Roque in North Triangle, Quezon City trooped to the National Housing Authority on Monday, asking to be relocated to Bulacan instead of Rizal, a 990AM report said.

Roughly 1,800 families, set to be relocated to Montalban, Rizal as their homes were being demolished to make way for a business district, asked the NHA to purchase a 12-hectare land in Barangay (village) Muzon, San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan.

The report quoted Maria Eden Galvez, vice president of the Samahang Nagkakaisa sa North Triangle, as saying that the North Luzon Expressway was more accessible from Bulacan. This would make it easier for them to earn a living from the area, she said.

The residents also demanded that each relocated family be given P50,000 to help them start over as well as livelihood programs.
