CEBU CITY—Three robbers fled with at least P16,614 in cash and cellphones worth P118,820 after pulling off a daylight heist at Junrex Cell Shop in Barangay (village) San Vicente, Bogo City, about 100 km north of this city.
Senior Supt. Clifford Gairanod, Cebu provincial police director, said the robbery happened at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday when a male employee went out for lunch, leaving Juvita Frias, 25, alone in the shop.
Two men then went inside the store and declared a holdup.
They tied up Frias and gagged her mouth with a masking tape before placing her inside the stockroom.
The store did not have a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera and a security guard.
The robbers then rode a motorcycle driven by a companion who was waiting outside the store.
The said robbery was the second to hit Bogo in March. A few days ago, a grocery store inside the Gaisano mall was also robbed.
Gairanod said Supt. Richard Oliver, Bogo City police chief, was placed under probation and would be relieved if another robbery occurs under his watch. RAM
