Medical reason sidelines airport manager
The general manager of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has gone on an indefinite leave for medical reasons.
According to a March 15 MIAA office order, which was disseminated on Monday, Jose Angel Honrado started his leave of absence on March 16.
The MIAA senior assistant general manager, Vicente Guerzon Jr., has been designated officer in charge of the airport authority.
Carlos Lozada, assistant general manager for engineering, has been named senior assistant general manager. Carmencita Ver, civil works department OIC, will temporarily replace Lozada as assistant general manager for engineering.
According to sources at the Department of Transportation and Communications, Honrado was suffering from gout, which restricts his movements.
The Inquirer tried to confirm this with Honrado’s spokesperson, David de Castro, but the latter did not answer questions.
