3.7 quake jolts Eastern Samar
A 3.7 magnitude earthquake struck off Eastern Samar at 9:31 pm Tuesday, state seismologists said.
The offshore quake centered 57 kilometers northeast of coastal San Julian town, the Philippine Institute of Volcanogy and Seismology said .
It occured at a depth of 25 kilometers.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
