A BAG of “mango chunks” was found also containing suspected “shabu” worth P2.5 million in a sting operation in Pasay City on Friday. The police arrested Mohammed Dirampaten, 23, of Quiapo, Manila; and Jamal Sultan, 28, of Dasmariñas, Cavite province, in a buy-bust operation on Seaside Boulevard around 4 p.m.

The suspects yielded a resealable bag of mango chunks, which when checked  was also found concealing around 500 grams of shabu, according to the Philippine National Police’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Group.

PNP-AIDG spokesperson Chief Insp. Roque Merdegia Jr. said the drug could fetch up to P2.5 million in the streets but that the suspects agreed to sell it to undercover agents for only P1 million.

Also seized was an apparently brand-new Toyota Hi-Ace van used by the two suspects, Merdegia said.
