A MAGNITUDE 5.5 earthquake jolted Davao Occidental province on Wednesday night, state seismologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake occurred 44 kilometers west of Davao Occidental at 9: 15 p.m.
Phivolcs said that it was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 10 kilometers.
It said no immediate damage was reported and no aftershocks were expected.
