ANGELES CITY—The police here and operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) shut down a shabu laboratory in an affluent subdivision here at past 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Initial information gathered by the Inquirer showed that the house on Lotus St. and 75-9 Clover St. on Timog Park in Barangay (village) Pampang here contained chemicals and equipment used in the manufacture of shabu (“methamphetamine hydrochloride”).
Police described it as a medium-scale clandestine laboratory, which could produce as much as 10 kilograms of shabu each day.
The police searched the property on the strength of a March 14 warrant issued by Judge Omar Viola against Rosemarie Xiao and a John Doe.
Last year, the PDEA found a shabu laboratory in the City of San Fernando, south of Angeles City, which was believed to have been operated by Chinese nationals.
Several months later, PDEA discovered another shabu laboratory in Tarlac, north of Angeles City. RAM
