Bar exam 2015 results known by late April or May

The results of the 2015 bar examination will be released late April or sometime in May, Supreme Court Associate Justice Teresita Leonardo De Castro said Thursday on the sidelines of the 21st annual convention of the Philippine Women Judges Association (PWJA).

She said the oath-taking for the successful examinees will be on June 16, 2016.

Out of the 7,146 examinees, over 6,600 examinees managed to complete the exam which was held for four Sundays of November 2015.

The number of law graduates admitted to take the exam, the 114th bar exam is the biggest in the last four years, SC records showed.

Last year, the Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC) said a total of 6, 370 law graduates applied for the 2014 Bar exams, or an increase of 729 from the previous year’s application.

But of the 6, 370 applications, only 6, 344 were admitted to take the exam of which only 5,996 showed up for the first Sunday of the exam.

In the course of the four Sundays of the exams, the numbers would be trimmed down to 5,984.

Out of the 5,984, the OBC said 1, 126 passed the 2014 Bar exams or a passing rate of 18.82 percent.
