Show proof of P50M bribe for Poe DQ, SC justice dares accusers

Come out and present evidence, Supreme Court Associate Justice Teresita Leonardo De Castro dared those claiming that there was a P50-million bribe offer to high court justices to disqualify Senator Grace Poe.

De Castro said the bribery allegation is very unfortunate.

“Grabe naman yun. We feel so bad about it,” De Castro told reporters at the sidelights of the 21st annual convention of the Philippine Women Judges Association (PWJA).

Reports came out that a lady lawyer previously connected in Malacañang has approached the justices and made the offer.

Voting 9-6, the high court has granted the petition of Poe paving way for her presidential bid.

“Unless the one who published it will give hard evidence and if he cannot, then he is doing a disservice to the judiciary. He is putting down the judiciary without good reason,” De Castro said.

“So, if he really has any evidence about it then bring it out so the Supreme Court can take action on that. We deplore unverified information being published especially before a case is decided because it may be being used to sway the justices one way or the other,” she added.CDG
