SEVERAL passengers of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) refused to leave one of its coaches after the north-bound train broke down at Guadalupe station.
This triggered a brief commotion as security guards forced the men to get off.
Passengers already outside the train shouted at the men, telling them that they were causing inconvenience.
The men eventually followed the guards, allowing the train to leave.
At around 6 p.m., one of the MRT’s trains stopped at Guadalupe station. Because of the onslaught of passengers, one of the train’s doors malfunctioned.
The driver announced this as passengers were told to leave the train.
After the malfunctioning train left, the passengers complained that it was difficult for them to catch the next trains, which were already jammed with riders.
Some people complained aloud about the poor service. One woman said the government shouldn’t have increased the MRT fares, especially since the trains often malfunction.
