Man accused of raping 14-year-old daughter arrested in Tagaytay coffeeshop
MANILA — A rape suspect, who was among Caloocan City’s top 5 most wanted people, was arrested early this week in a coffee shop in Tagaytay City, after hiding for four years from the charge of raping his 14-year-old daughter.
Senior Superintendent Bartolome Bustamante, chief of the Caloocan City Police Station, said the 46-year-old suspect was arrested by operatives of the Caloocan City Police station, on Monday morning, at Starbucks in Tagaytay City.
The suspect, a laborer, was arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Branch 124 of the Caloocan City Regional Trial Court for two counts of rape and acts of lasciviousness towards his then 14-year-old daughter.
“He was surprised when the police arrested him,” Bustamante said, adding that he formed a manhunt team after receiving a tip on the suspect’s location.
The suspect is currently detained at the headquarters of the Caloocan City Police Station while awaiting a commitment order.
Bustamante said the suspect resided with a live-in partner in Cavite City after leaving his family in Caloocan City to hide. SFM
