SENATORIAL aspirant Risa Hontiveros revealed on Monday why she chose to stick with the Liberal Party and become one of its candidates.
In a press forum, Hontiveros said that the administration led by the Liberal Party (LP) was able to implement substantial policy reforms and fix government institutions.
“Kaya kami naka-coalition partner sa Liberal Party for the past six year.
She also vouched for the administration presidential and vice presidential candidates Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo, saying that they will not derail the programs implemented by the current administration.
The former Akbayan representative said that among all the presidential aspirants, Roxas is the most qualified for the post.
“Among all the ‘presidentiables’ with their own distinct qualities, sa tingin ko siya ang pinaka-qualified in terms of work background, kakayahan niya sa ngayon at yung commitment niya na mapalawak pa ang mga reporma,” she said.
On the other hand, Hontiveros said that Robredo is dear to her because she came from the civil society sector where she served as a lawyer for indigent clients.
The former PhilHealth director is currently one of the candidates who have secured their spots in the “magic circle of 12” in preference surveys.
