A HOMELESS man was stabbed dead by a fellow vagrant in barangay Ermita, Cebu City, on Thursday night.
Jesus Belandres, 60, died of multiple stab wounds. The suspect, Leding Yunting Rivera, was arrested by responding barangay tanods.
The two lived in the sidewalks of Magallanes Street.
Police said Belandres got irked when his sleep was disrupted by Rivera, who woke him up while he was sleeping on the sidewalk.
The two men argued and ended up in a fistfight.
During the scuffle, Rivera drew a knife and stabbed Belandres repeatedly, said police.
Belandres was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center but died along the way. CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
